How I Balance Motherhood & my business

One of the questions I get asked is how I balance motherhood while running a business and the truth is, it’s a constant learning process. Being a mom will always come first for me, and I’m thankful to have people around me who step in and support me when needed. My mom helps watch the babies during sessions and weddings, and occasionally I’ll have a sitter or my brother help when needed. Having that support allows me to pursue something I truly love while still being present for my children.

I’ve also learned that balance doesn’t mean doing everything all at once. It means setting boundaries and being intentional with my time. I limit how much I take on so I can give my clients the best experience possible without sacrificing time with my babies. I don’t work holidays or birthdays because those moments matter deeply to me. Those are memories I never want to miss.

A lot of my editing happens during nap times or after bedtime when the house is finally quiet. Some nights are late, some days feel busy, and not every week looks perfectly balanced but I’ve learned to embrace it.

Motherhood has honestly takes a big role in the way I photograph people. It’s made me slower, more intentional, and more emotional when capturing moments. I notice the little things more, the quiet hugs, the messy laughter, the way someone reaches for another person’s hand without thinking. I know how quickly time moves now. That perspective has made photography so much more meaningful to me because I understand just how important these memories truly are.

To every mom building something while raising babies at the same time, I see you. It may not always be easy, but it’s worth it.
